Topline

COURIER seeks a Video Editor to join its national division to support production on its video podcasts and other serialized video content.

Responsibilities include:

• Edit and publish long-form video products for YouTube
• Create compelling social-first video content from COURIER's longer-form video series and podcasts
• Write platform-specific social media copy to accompany all videos
• Produce and edit additional rapid response, breaking news, or creator social videos as needed.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Digital Media, Film, Audio, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
• Experience creating high-performing video content for news organizations or brands
• Strong understanding of social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram), algorithms, and best practices is required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Descript, Canva is required
• Willingness to work irregular hours during select breaking news moments or key political events (i.e. conferences, presidential debates, press events, election nights, speaking engagements)
