Sales Consultant

The Sales Consultant position services retail stores. General responsibilities comprise of the proper management of an established sales territory including selling, servicing, merchandising, administration and ensuring up-to-date accounts receivable. Salary: starts at $60,000

Essential Functions

  • Sells fine wine and spirits to on-premise and off-premise accounts throughout the assigned territory.
  • Effectively communicates our producers' stories and products and continually educates the market, customers and service teams.
  • Works closely with the Colorado Sales Manager and fellow sales team to achieve and exceed sales goals and profitability.
  • Establishes, cultivates and maintains relationships with key accounts.
  • Provides the highest-level customer service and hospitality.
  • Develops extensive knowledge of our portfolio, products, culture and market.
  • Analyzes the territory for opportunities and consistently seeks out new business relationships and opens new accounts.
  • Organizes and hosts tastings, dinners and events for the trade and consumers.
  • Organizes and executes supplier market visits.
  • Merchandises and services product at retail accounts.
  • Stays current on industry trends and connected with the local wine and spirits community.

Other

  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary.
  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers' license and meet company driving record & automobile insurance requirements.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Must reside in Colorado and have a valid Colorado driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Reliable transportation for servicing the sales territory.
  • Minimum of 2-years of wine and spirits industry experience.
  • Understanding of varietals, regions, winemaking and distilling techniques and a curiosity and desire for always learning more.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve sales goals.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, excellent communication and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • The Company has invested in and requires the downloading and use of the app, Motus, if an employee receives mileage allowance. This app ensures the accurate tracking of mileage on behalf of the Company and is needed for IRS records.
