Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)—we can assist with this after hire if needed
  • TB skin test (current within the last 12 months)
  • Six months of hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Reliable transportation is a must

Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for delivering and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following the developed care plan and physician's orders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders.
  • Continuously observe and assess patient conditions, reporting changes as needed.
  • Document all activities, assessments, and nursing actions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in implementing and updating the nursing care plan.
  • Recognize changes in patient needs and take appropriate nursing actions.
  • Maintain compliance with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies.
  • Engage in ongoing education and skill evaluations to maintain professional competencies.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting are required.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity, as well as a strong sense of smell and touch.
  • Ability to respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.

Environment

Must be able to function in various environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions, including blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
