Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT/OT Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a background in Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), or related fields. You will support the integration of IT systems with industrial control systems, assist in implementing cybersecurity best practices, and help maintain automation infrastructure across industrial sites.
Responsibilities
· Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure for industrial automation systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS).
· Assist with the integration of IT and OT systems, including data acquisition, historian systems, and enterprise-level software platforms (e.g., MES, ERP).
· Participate in the deployment and support of HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk).
· Monitor and troubleshoot OT networks, industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP), and connected devices.
· Help implement and maintain cybersecurity policies in OT environments.
· Document system configurations, procedures, and change logs.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects, commissioning activities, and system upgrades.
· Stay current with emerging technologies in industrial automation and digital transformation.
Qualifications
Required:
· Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field
· Basic understanding of industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) and networking concepts
· Familiarity with Windows Server/Client operating systems and industrial software platforms
· Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., IP addressing, VLANs, firewalls)
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
· Willingness to travel to customer or plant sites as needed
Preferred (but not required):
· Experience or internship in industrial automation or manufacturing environment
· Exposure to control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, etc.)
· Familiarity with scripting or programming (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
· Understanding of cybersecurity principles for OT networks
· Knowledge of cloud-connected IIoT platforms (e.g., AVEVA Insight, Azure IoT)
· Knowledge of Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper V)
