Growing together.** **Position Highlights:** + Block Schedule: 7 on / 7 off (182 shifts per year) + Schedule: One week of day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) and one week of night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) + ED consults; patient care in a manner consistent with hospital medical staff by-laws and referring physician requests + Communicates with families, referring physicians, specialists, administration and hospital departments in the care and treatment of patients referred to the service + Work with hospitals and clinical staff, social services, utilization management and other members of the interdisciplinary teams + Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to discuss patients progress, variances and achievement of expected outcomes and plan of care + Assumes responsibility to ensure that all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and timely including medical records, billing/coding and any other such documentation as requested by hospital from time to time **What makes an Optum organization different?** + Be part of a best-in-class employee experience that enables you to practice at the top of your license   + We believe that better care for clinicians equates to better care for patients  + We are influencing change collectively on a national scale while still maintaining the culture and community of our local care organizations  + Practice medicine autonomously, with the support, not restrictions, of a sustainable and thriving national health care organization You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. **Required Qualifications:** + Unrestricted California State Medical License + Current California DEA certificate + BE/BC Internal Medicine + Minimum 1-3 years Hospitalist experience required + EMR proficient + Self-starter with ability to practice with a high degree of independence + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Managed Care and Medi-Cal experience desirable The salary range for this role is $260,000 to $387,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
