Job Description

Our client, a leader in fiberglass tooling, fabrication, and manufacturing is seeking a Buyer/Planner to add to their growing team. This role works with a team of 7 office personal and a manufacturing team of 70 and takes responsibility for all tactical and strategic purchasing activities, as well as prioritizing and capturing purchased item cost reduction opportunities. The role maintains standard M-F hours, resides in Lake Mills, and pays in the $70K - range based on experience.

The key to this role is past recent and relevant supply chain experience providing expertise purchasing and planning within a manufacturing environment. The incumbent will:

• Track and maintain the raw material and supplies inventory flow as efficiently as possible to support two manufacturing plants & a small corporate office.
• Analyze spending/component cost data and manage vendor base to identify and deliver cost reductions, counter vendor price increases and maintain/improve quality.
• Issue and monitor PO’s, update and maintain data & records in a SAGE system, keeping records organized, supporting the physical inventory process.
• Purchase all raw materials, plant supplies, and services needed for production of customer goods and business operations.
• Monitor and optimally/efficiently replenish raw and finished good materials.
• Assist in implementation of SAGE Operations Management module
• Perform cycle counts which in turn drives replenishing orders.
• Receive into SAGE system all paperwork from incoming products.
• Design and manage professional inventory systems including the ability to understand and calculate re-order point, EOQ’s, and MOQ’s to optimize the amount of inventory on hand.
• Design and manage a physical ordering system (Kanban).
• Negotiate and drive cost reductions with current and new vendors.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills, and the ability to use business systems software.
• Strong computer skills with experience using MRP/ERP software
• Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of accuracy & accountability
• Self-directed, highly organized multitasker
• Excellent communication (verbal & written), phone and organizational skills.
• Effective planning and negotiation skills.

Preferred but not required

• Bachelors Degree
• Experience with SAGE
• Experience with Kanban ordering systems
